WELCOME

Reno – Lake Tahoe freelance photographer

I love photojournalism. I love the power of the image to inform, inspire and change society. I spent the first 20 years of my career as a working photojournalists, first in Latin America as a staff photographer for the Associated Press - best first job ever! Then as a staff photographer and photo editor for the Reno Gazette Journal. In between I shot a few major assignments for USA Today, including heading up the Alpine Photography for two winter olympics.

As early as 2004, it became clear to me that newspapers, and journalism as I knew it, were in danger from the internet. I watched the staff at my paper get cut, and cut again. Finally by 2007 I had enough and set out to change direction yet again.

My current photographic passion is the environment and those who play in it. I love photographing in the mountains, on rivers, in the air, in the desert, on skis, any sort of outdoor action and adventure photography. I am also an FAA licensed drone pilot available for hire and an accomplished videographer.

High resolution fine art landscapes are also a major focus. Having grown up with Ansel Adams instead of Instagram, I love creating beautiful detailed landscapes that can be printed at large sizes and improve the look of any home, office, meeting room or waiting room. Several local companies have my art hanging in their hallways and boardrooms. What can I create for you?

Life is an awfully big adventure …
